Poco F4 GT Announced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Chipset

The launch of new Poco phones continues as the company has announced a new F-Series smartphone: Poco F4 GT. Poco F4 GT Overview

Design/Display

The design overview of the Poco F4 GT resembles a gaming smartphone as it has an ‘X’ shaped pattern in the rear camera module and LED strips on the camera border. The front view of the phone has a punch-hole cutout on the top center for the front-facing camera. It measures 162.5 x 76.7 x 8.5 mm dimensions and has a weight of 210grams. This device has glass on the front, back, and aluminum on the frame. 

Poco F4 GT comes in a 6.67-inches AMOLED display with the support of a 120Hz refresh rate, 1B colors, and a 10-bit color depth screen with HDR10+ certification. This device supports 1920Hz high-frequency Pulse Width Modulation for reducing discomfort in the eyes. Furthermore, the display supports 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus which is also found in Xiaomi 12X. 

Performance

Poco F4 GT is powered by the latest and one of the most powerful chipsets, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. This is the same processor found in the OnePlus 10 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and many more flagship phones of this year. With max clock speed up to 3.00 GHz, this octa-core processor is based on 4nm technology and coupled with Adreno 730 GPU. 

On the memory side, it has 8/12GB RAM and 128/256GB internal storage. The storage is UFS 3.1 but the phone lacks a microSD slot. For better performance during gaming, it has LiquidCool Technology 3.0 with dual vapor chambers. 

Camera

Moving towards the photography capabilities of the Poco F4 GT, it features triple rear cameras led by a 64MP Sony IMX686 Camera Primary wide lens. The other sensors are an 8MP Ultrawide lens with 120˚ FOV and a 2MP Macro lens. On the front, it has a single 20MP Selfie Camera for video calls. Talking about videography, the rear camera can record video in 4K at 30/60fps while the front camera in 1080p at 30/60fps.

Poco F4 GT packs a 4700mAh battery with the support of 120W fast charging as well as USB Type-C 2.0. According to the company, this phone will be charged 100% within 17minutes of charging. It also supports Power Delivery 3.0 and Quick Charge 3+. 

Poco F4 GT has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor but in-display is expected in this price range. The device is running on Android 12 with MIUI 13 as the user interfaces in the phone. It is available in Stealth Black, Knight Silver, and Cyber Yellow color variants.
